Modern Green-Roofed Home

A new project in Rybnik, Poland by Jojko+Nawrocki Architekci explores ways that we can minimize the visual impact of architecture upon the landscape. The eco housing project was designed to make the most of solar orientation while keeping a low profile and providing beautiful views of the nearby forest. The resulting project consists of a series of three partially underground homes that feature sloping green roofs.

New Google Offices in Stockholm

The hits keep coming from Big G. Google offices around the world seem to be competing with one another as to who is more cool. Their workplaces are the talk of the town and since each one is built with keeping the city, country and culture in mind, it becomes delightful for any design lover to see what they offer.

Previously Google’s offices from Zurich, Milan, Madrid and Munich found their way here and this time, it is the Google office in Stockholm that catches our fancy. A very relaxed and open place to work in, this Stockholm base is designed by architects from Camenzind, is another feather added to the cap. Bright colors and a lively atmosphere ensure that creativity oozes out of every nook and corner. Even beyond that, every room is designed individually, keeping its function in mind. The game room has a funky interior while the conference room has a formal yet welcoming feel to it.

                   Google work places are known to be fun! These pictures below, are from different offices around Europe.

                    The work places in Milan, Madrid and Munich were designed by DEGW, a company that usually designs for various Fortune 500 companies, while the one in Zurich was designed by the swiss firm Camenzind Evolution.

Google’s Russia Offices in St. Petersburg and Moscow, both designed by Swiss firm, Camenzind Evolution, are as vibrant and exotic as the unique cities they are located in. Similar to AOL’s offices and Pixar’s offices, both of which we have featured here, Google’s spaces include meeting dens that foster employee interaction and game rooms for healthy breaks and recreation time.
